Is Lucas Oil Ok? Tried search

Hi,

Is this oil ok for my Cupra 150 Tdi please?

I tried searching but not sure. I currently use Castrol Edge on a normal sercive cycle but somebody recommended Lucas. Have a look......

Possibly as it seems to have the 507 rating. I would stick with Castrol edge oils that either have 505.01 or 507.00 as they have been approved by VW.

Hmm, I'm not convinced either. It states that the oil exceeds all these specifications etc... but when you link to the data specification on the parent website, it says nothing there about being certified to VW specs. It could be that they believe it exceeds the required spec., and their wording is careful to exclude the word "certified", and also the list of specifications is suitably vague.

"Meets or exceeds" doesn't mean the same as "certified".

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for the time in answering but have been working double shifts.

Anyway I plumped for the Millers as recommended. It is not the full synthetic but Hi-synthetic. We'll see how it goes. Tne Castrol Edge seemed to last forever so will be interesting.
