is this normal on a cupra?

Basically when im driving along now and again the handbrake/parking light will start flashing and the car makes a beeping sound 3 times, the beeping then stops but the light will flash about 5 more times then go off.

Just wanting to know if its normal? or has my car developed a fault? if so any one know what is causing it?

think you have a fault mine only beeps when low on fuel or water level low

When the water level is low on yours do you know if any lights come on the speedo?

Check your brake fluid level, if its low you get the beeping and the handbrake light.

Does the Ibiza have brake pad wear sensors? Could be those also (if fitted)

dont think cupras come with wear sensors mine didn't but then again gone bigger discs and calipers on front and rear

Il have to check for a wear sensor, funnily enough you say that there is a slight rubbing noise coming from my n/s front wheel yet it goes off when i brake so im guessing its the pad catching the disk slightly, il check both brake fluid and the pads tomorrow.

mine does this now & then & funnily enough i have knackered pads and a faulty o/s/f ABS sensor so could possibly be interlinked

Yeah i had a faulty n/s/f abs sensor last week both the tcs + the abs lights were on, turned out the wire had snapped when i toke the wheel off, i rejoined them and thats solved that but now this and if like you say your having the same problem who knows it could all be interlinked

Its low brake fluid,

Had the same a few years ago, the level had dropped to minimum and when going round a bend the handbrake light flashed with 3 beeps.

Topped up and was fine after that.

The cupras don't have wear indicators so like said it's probably low fluid.

That beep is bloody annoying, shame it's built into the clocks.

also have this problem, comes on pretty much as soon as i start driving. and have tried topping up fluid and replacing fluid level sensor and its made no difference! oh and nothing coming up on vagcom either.

so if anyones got any other suggestions? ......

Topped my brake fluid up today, seems to have turned it off

Joshw have you had any problems with your abs sensors? tcs + abs lights on the speedo?

ye tcs and abs lights are on also, i thought that if it was abs sensors it wouldve come up on vagcom, but i guess ill just have to change them and see if that sorts it.
