Does any know what has to be done if im to put it back on the road lol ??

If you get the damage sorted then you take it to ministry of transport centre to be checked,my brothers nissan 200sx was a write off with front end corner damage which he repaired from what he told me it was fairly simple check

The vic check is done for cat c cars and is by no means a quality of repair test, there simply checking to make sure the car hasn't been rung and put on false plates etc

so its just: 1.fix the car 2. VIC 3. Mot 4. Insurance 5. Tax

and it that order. getting to downham for a vic is going to be a pain as it wont be legal to drive...

fix car apply for log book, then book vic check, mot and tax it

I have the log book. Not showing anywhere that i need to re-apply for it. VIC marker has been set now though.

I cant beleive theres no vic centre's closer it says on the site that most MOT VOSA centres should do them and there are plenty of them in King's Lynn.

O well i should be able to sort it fairley quickly, im going to phone DVLA & VOSA tomorrow hopefully they can fill in any gaps

thanks guys

I have just gotten off the phone to DVLA so here is what they have told me.

VIC - check is not a legal requirement and if i am keeping the vehcile myself i only have to get this done if my insurer wont give me valid insurance without it.

MOT - if valid mot was on the car and it is in road condition i shouldnt need to MOT again until it is due.

LOG BOOK - i do not need to apply for a new one as i have one in my possession, but a new one with change of adress or keeper will show the CAT C.

Tax - my old tax can be repringted and put back onto the car (wish id known this before i sent it away:()

if this is all correct and my insurance isnt a pain then it will be simple  but when does that ever happen.

I will still probably get a vic check done even if i can put it on the road without because then it will remove the marker and show that it has been checked. try and keep everything legit and honest hopefully if i sell in the future this will help. although i plan to keep it for a long time

thanks all

If the vehicle is a cat d then you won't require a vic, only a cat c requires one. your insurance company will have told you what category it is ?

Get it booked in and all they do is make sure the chassis number matches the reg, my cousin repairs a lot of vehicles and this is all he does.

Yea cheers i seen that somewhere. yea will get one booked just a bit of a drive from where i live to closest centre that does them so need to make sure its insured etc
