Brake warning light came on late christmas eve, had no chance of finding some pads on christmas day but was hoping I'd have more luck today unfortunately dealers are closed as are most garages.

Ideally I'd like to put DS2500's on (currently have OEM pads) but I know its unlikely that anywhere in cov would stock them so are there any alternatives I could get hold of at short notice and get fitted?

I know its possible the pads might still have a bit of life left but I don't want to chance it after reading about the inconsistency of the wear indicator especially with my partner and baby in the car.

your brakes should be fine if the light has only just come on but you should be able to see anyway by looking through your wheels how much pad you have left

As above turn your wheel full lock and check both inner and outer pads. When doing this check your disc for a lip. I've had car for 75,000 miles and never just changed pads, always pads and discs, no point putting good expensive pads on worn discs.
I just got DS2500 pads and EBC Ultimax discs from Bill. Pads were £95 + VAT and front discs were £188 + VAT and fitted these myself. You'll find a very good and very easy to follow fitting guide in the guides section on the home page. I also posted a thread recently about the tools you need to do this job.

thanks for all the replies guys, bill I'll give you a call/text tomorrow

Haven't really had a chance to check the pads as yet, took a quick look and it seemed like there was just under 5mm left but if I'm honest I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at :headhurt: had to visit family so I'll take a better look tomorrow in the light

the pad warning comes in quite early on my vrs.
and as stated above, the inside was worse than the outside, the inside has the wear sensor.
and manufacturers have to work on the safe side.everyday joe would drive round for a month before he even noticed the warning light.
Not that i am trying to take money off bill ;)

I'm in need of brakes, a couple months ago! but being standard and not doing as many miles it not bothering me now. But will need some soon. Bill, your up! have asked before but budget hads changed a bit now. Something decent for good money's but not too expensive. I.e fast road pads and good (but cheap) discs?

my pads are 80% worn so will need changing soon - thinking of using a local (cheaper ) garage rathet than Seat . Any problems doing this ?

I had the original 16" wheels so i am thinking it 280mm discs. What can you do for me Bill, think the DS2500's are bit on the expensive side at the moment? anything bit better than Oe would be ok.

DS2500 are what I recommend.
If after OE then Pagid OE should be slightly improved over Jurid factory fitment

I use Pagid OE for rears on badgerwagen to good effect
