Here is my new 1.4tsi ACT fr edition. Needless to say, I love it!

Been thinking about mods etc so got these in mind:

Internal seat decals

Sports air filter (pipecross)

Upgrade exhaust system - any ideas?

Debadge ibiza letters -

Fly eye wrap for headlights - (on order)

Stubby ariel - (on order)

Coil Over set - any ideas?

Remap - stage 1 superchips/revo - when i wear the engine in (only done 1200 so far)

Looks nice! How do you find the new air filter? I was thinking of changing mine but wondered if you noticed much difference to the 1.4 act in sound or performance?

I'm guessing it's and 'FR Black' ordered from the dealer.

Which aerial did you order mate? I'm after one for mine.

Also beware of invalidating your engine warranty with the remap as the dealer can now detect them. AFAIK the removable plug in jobs from the likes of DTUK are still ok but you don't get the same gains.

Yeah it's FR black edition just gun metal paintwork so all that came as standard..

I can't say the air filter makes much of a difference in performance just that you get to hear the turbo spool a lot better (i'll try posting a vid).

Yeah the remap situation seems a bit tricky to compensate atm, i used to have a tuning box for my old ibiza but like you said not the same gains

What model have you lot got?

around about 3-4 months i think, its only the little 1.2 TSI tho haha
got it lowered the other week which made a big difference (makes it look like a normal car with normal suspension rather than a monster truck)

They're good little engines to be honest. Have you got the whole car lowered or just the front?
Like you said, they do sit fairly high so I'm gonna be doing the same at some point.

Got the whole car lowered on H&R's, wish the backs where a bit lower tbh next thing is to get some rear spacers so hopefully the tyres will look like they fill the arch a bit more.
its nippy enough for the engine and im more than happy with it though! (just wish it was louder)

The front looks an ideal height. I take it, doing this won't effect warranty etc?
You looking at fitting an exhaust system at any point??

any change should only affect the warranty on parts directly affected by the change, so lowering would void warranty on the suspension - so shocks/new springs wont be waranteed but thats to be expected!

Funnily enough i got a quote from exhaust a fix in Darlington the other day so debating what im going to do, 3/4 system for £325 which should sound great or just the backbox and tail pipes for £200 which should make a noticable difference.
Or i have read that alot of people start off with replacing the middle silencer with piping which should be pretty cheap to do (£60 or less) which gives the exhaust a deeper sound.

What was the lowering that the springs you bought offered??

Yeah i'm looking at a non resonated cat back system but demon tweeks in wrexham do custom powerflow exhausts so make to fit. I'll have to go and price some things up.

Removing the centre silencer works pretty well I had it done on my old 1.2tsi, this is my vid

i went for the H&R's with the 25/40mm setup.
And i might have to get the silencer removed pretty soon and take it from there

Got the car in the dealers Monday though i have just noticed an annoying rattle/metallic sound coming from the engine bay when lifting off the throttle, they said all 1.2 tsi's have this but there going to take a look anyway - then exhaust haha

Cheers for the link mate, I've got an FR with the ACT engine too. I've just hit 8000 miles and it loosens up nicely with a few miles on. Hopefully the tuning companies with the boxes might find a way of getting a bit more out of them, the engines seem to be solid so far.

Nice one mate, how's the radio reception with that on? Huge difference?

Didn't really use the radio before I got it but from what I remember there isn't a massive difference but it is noticeable on certain stations
