Here it is in my engine bay. You will need to make a bracket though (to support the weight).

well. hopefully my bov comes tomorrow, so i'll be fitting that, but i also need to fit the filter too, is it possible to mount it with no bracket? or how difficult is the bracket to make? i might be able to knock one up at work so its ready for when i get in if its simple

No probs pal. The weight of the filter will pull the intake down and it then flaps all over the place. a Bracket can easily be made up. Best to wait until you have the filter and then figure out what needs to go where. You will need to add a filter to the SAI (the small hose that goes into the airbox) I used an old sock and cable-tied it on there!
My filter is mounted to one of the airbox mounts.
