Can just ask a question, i just attached my jetex filter straight onto the MAF with no extension used at all, i have sort of secured it with some metal wrap but other than that it seems fine but im not sure if it will cause any damage in the future

Mine came this morning... I have just took the top of the airbox off and left the filter lying on the bottom of the housing... keeps it a bit stable and also hopefully provides a bit of extra cold air!
must say im not that impressed with the sound - just can hear turbo spooling up much more, no growl, but thinkin about it, the engine noise is obviously not going to get past the turbo anyway!
Still sounds a bit better than before anyway, and am thinkin of taking out the insulation under the bonnet now as well.... surely that would help with cooling as well??

I took my bonnet cover off and it does make a big difference in sound
if you want the car to sound deeper then deffo remove the cover

They called me today saying my order was being despatched. I checked it was all in stock and they said yeah plenty.
Anyways, it should be here tomorrow along with my jabba heatshield and cold air feeds.
I also bought my silicone coupler and link tube from ebay and they are sh!te quality. The silicone is cut wonky and not clean, and the tube has a dent in it! wtf!
Are there any shops that I can visit to buy these as I want to put it all in at the weekend? I don't think Halfords will sell these.

. I just got my joiner deilivered in under 24hrs, just waiting on filter and coupler next week.
just managed to get an airfeed back on so thought it was time to post a few pics...
...as mine is a diesel I had the problem of what to do with the purge pipe that is normally connected to the airbox (i'm informed its an air feed to the EGR and boost pressure solenoids). It apparently makes the engine real lumpy if its just left disconnected so had the problem of where to tap it back into the new setup. Decided on the following...
Might as well put some of my fishing tackle into use over the winter!! A meat punch to punch a nice neat hole straight through the rubber...
Found these in B&Q, ideal with that nice lip to hold it in place in the filter...
Filter fitted with purge pipe attached (had to extend pipe for it to reach)...
I have one of the air scoops that a member on here provideda while back...and although they do the job great i'm not keen on having to squash the ducting between the battery cover and headlight so went the other route to the foglight grille...
Next job is to secure the filter other than using tie wraps! I love J0N's method, but personally don't want to go down that route so will be making up some kind of bracket over the next week!!!

So you found your issues! With that reading Dave, you're looking in the 260bhp's+!
Where were the leaks?
on the joins of the intercooler, and 1 at a join of 2 silicon pipes. Some beefier clips were put on

3" max without squashing it but you will need to snap out some plastic for it to fit ot try to relocate the battery to the left slightly.

i have a Red LCR i want a red filter to go with the red forge hoses....there are these ones from Jetex in red: http://www.jetex.co.uk/website/colo...y_23=&qty_24=&qty_25=&qty_26=&qty_27=&qty_28= are these the same & okay for a LCR?? they got different mm sizes and are angled

Did you glue that grey plastic piece inplace?
If that comes free its post filter and could potentially do big damage to a turbo spinning at 50,000 RPMs.
A small dab of glue would make me feel alot more confident of this staying in place.

No glue Willie. It is a very snug fit in that hole, and it took a good shove to get it through in the first place. I also carved a "channel" in the grey piece where the hose attaches to give good grip by the tie wrap, so there should really be no way it can come out...
...although a dab of glue would make extra certain wouldn't it

Why are the coloured ones angled? Will they still fit?
And bacause they are only rated to 270bhp, will they be more restrictive than the blue ones that are rated higher?
why would you want an angled one? i would have thought they would be a bit more restrictive.... i didnt get one as im getting it remapped, and it would be up near the 270bhp mark.. didnt want to be getting near the upper limits of the filter...
just get the standard one its fine mate! sounds much better, much more turbo / DV noise!
