The weirdest thing happened just then! I read about your top mounts and then on my way home mine started creaking really badly from the o/s/f and it clunks when on full lock! I have tightened up my strut bolts hoping its them! Its creaking when I brake like yours and when I accelerate like yours! I hope the bearings arnt too hard to change but the top mounts on my coilys came already on the from another owner on here. So might try sapping them to the ones from my old struts. How hard is it to swap them??

Coincidence! I've never done it, it's a shock out job so id say easier than fitting coilovers but still a pain in the ar5e

Thank you!

And unfortunately no :( My mum wants me to have an underpowered car for the rest of my life! She's being as difficult as possible about it.

Plus whatever MK4 Ibiza i go for it will be a downgrade in some respects because my cars a 2008 with only 27k on it. But its a compromise, i want something with kick!

One came up on sunday which was a bargain, Mk4 FR 20vt, 33k 07 for £3,700! But missed out :(

Now got my eye on these:

1. (not mad on colour) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110790479...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_500wt_1287

2. (again not mad on colour) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/180761238...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_1330wt_1270

I'm just so picky!

Been there mate had a little mk ibiza 1.4 as second car then went and bought a vti civic mother wasent pleased!!!

being picky is good id go for the second selection (red) will be much easier if you ever wanted to sell not keen on the blue.

Always liked mk4 ibiza be a good base to start with tuning/styling wise wouldnt mind another ibiza but love the size of the leon :)

Yeah, Cupra are £2,300 insure for me! Where as FR's are £1,700.

I really dont know! So stressful! I like red one but mother's always 'why do you want a car thats older than yours with twice the mileage etc' and i cant say 'because its much quicker' etc

But shes the one who'd sort it all out!

Why cant i just win the lottery?

I think you should sort it all yourself so you can get the car you want. It is going to be your car afterall :)

£500 is a far chunky of money saved on the insurance thats why never went straight for cupra r or s3.

is there a big different in spec from fr to cupra?

Winning the lottery sounds nice would go towards my S4 funds :)

Cupra comes with 312's over 288mm brakes, small front mount over side mount, 180 over 150 bhp (although a stage 1 cupra and fr will be at same BHP).

Cupras are cupras though!

The £500 saving on insurance is a remap for an FR +£150 - £200 spare!

@wrayvon i know!! She's just being a typical mother worrying about me, but iver been driving 3 years next month, i learnt to drive in my car and it's served its purpose! Want rid now!

Yeah, I wouldn't want my 1.2 after 18, never mind after 20-21! :p

Surely insurance should be lower than £1,700, you have 3 years no claims!! I was looking at a quote from aviva on a 1.8 GTi Golf after 1 years no claims, and that was £1,600!

It's a mad mad world.

Hope you get it all sorted mate, and IMO, red looks best on the Ibiza/Leon!

Its soo silly, £2,300 for me on a 20vt 54 plate cupra, and £700 for me on a mk5 cupra worth £20k! Ridiculous!
The £2,300 was on moneysupermarket with me as policy holder and main driver then then parents as additional to try reduce price (both have 9+ years of NCB and no points, 30 years driving experience. All clean!) Need to get a quote with adrian flux as if i get one it WILL be getting modified haha
