Hi all, as the title says, i'm picking up a completely standard 2002 Cupra (not the R) next week and already have the modding bug. I'm not so bothered with altering the performance just yet although i'll be getting myself an induction kit soon. So, a few questions if anyone can spare a bit of time for me.

Whats the best induction kit to go for? I've always gone with Pipercross but whats best for power gains/effeciency?

Desperate for a set of the Cupra R alloys... they're pretty. Will probably go second hand so whats a fair price?

What interesting little euro type mods can i look at to brighten up the outside? The paintwork is silver with black trim. The plan is to make it all silver. I'll need to find myself a decent looking front splitter and skirts. What good parts websites are out there? The only ones i can remember from my VW days are Awesome GTI and Euro car parts for standard bits.

Can i get away with just swapping the springs for some shorter ones or will this really ruin the ride? I really can't afford dampers as well just yet. Just doing the springs worked well on my old Celica...

Cheers :D

welcome to the site fella.
there's loads of threads on here regarding which induction kit - this will come down to personal preference and budget.

regarding cupra r alloys, 2nd hand sets command big money still, i have seen them go for £500+!
you can colour code your trim and update the front bumper if yours already isnt the facelift model.
if it is then the cupra r bumper upgrade is an option.

i mostly locate my parts from ebay but depending on what you are doing the forge, ths and other sponsors on here are a good choice.

when u hit 15 posts you can upload some pics of your new ride :D

Cheers for the reply SalSheikh

Oh... all of a sudden i'm not so bothered with the Cupra R wheels lol! I'll have a look around at other options. To be honest i'll probably get some new deep dish jobbies and go down the direct debit route and pay em off over a year. Easier on the pocket.

Hopefully i'll be picking it up on monday or tuesday. I was a bit worried i'd end up with two cars as i've not sold my Impreza yet but got a call earlier from a bloke who seems very keen... now i'm worried that i'll be without a car for a few days instead.

I've just checked out ebay and seen a few bits and pieces to keep me ticking over for a while.

When did they facelift the Cupra? To be honest i'm not sure which mine is.... how do i tell?

Welcome to SCN

Good purchase, pics of my Cupra in my garage.

Also what mileage and colour is your Cupra?

Its a 2002, 66k on the clock and its silver. Pre-facelift apparently but i'll sort that out soon enough. Wanted a red one but the mrs said she wouldn't be able to accessorise with that colour :cartman:
