Hi all... The insurance on my previous car was way too much so ended up swapping for a cupra, it's a great car too drive and I'm really pleased with it. The only little issue that someone may be able to help me out with is that occasionally when acclorationg hard in low gears the power cuts off and I yellow light flashes on the dashboard... It's only happened 3 times since I've had it over the last week and apart from that the car drives absolutely superb. Can anyone point me in the right direction to sort this out? Thank you :)

I had a fiat punto once, the same thing happened to me.

I took it too a garage and they replaced the "Lamba" sensor or something like that and it was fine

You need to get the car scanned and find out what the fault code is. There are 1001 reasons why the light comes on the dash. You need a fault code.

You can go to a main dealer and pay 80 quid. go to an independent garage and pay a bit less or buy yourself the tool for 30-50 quid and do it yourself as many times as you need.

The tool is called VCDS. do some searching on here and all will become clear.

Or you could pay someone local on here some beer tokens to scan it for you.

Once you have the error code you can do more searching to find what the fix is.

Welcome to SCN by the way.

Sounds to me like the traction control is cutting in.... Have you tied turning the traction of? ( a button by the handbrake ) I have a sneaky feeling it may be this

Oh yeah, I forgot that it could be a different light. Thought it was going to be the engine management light.

The OP wouldn't be that daft would they?

Thanks for the replys, I never thought about that! It would make sense because the car drives great normally. Thank you
