Info post for anyone looking to upgrade single din head unit in Leon Cupra R 05 and doesn't want any complications

Purchased the Sony MEXBT4000U headunit: £120 from amazon
Also ordered T1 Audio T1-CT24ST01 PACK (face adapter plate, HU removal keys, booster aerial and wiring harness (harness not needed with this HU)) £12 from amazon

Really happy with this head unit - i've spent lots of money before on head units preferring quality to quantity (this unit 4 x 52 wts) and this is well up there with £250+ head units in terms of quality and features. there are some really trick points to this head unit that they don't even mention on the box, which means for those of you that have been wanting to change but can't be arsed with hassles of loosing radio, having to order extra bits..... i recommend it so highly I had to come and write about it in the hope it will help some of you in the future. I had budgeted for £300 so money in pocket and this really is really well thought out...all those things you discover later on that you don't initially think of that turn into niggeldy annoyances (like iphone wont charge from usb, can't search music, can't use the head unit buttons to change tracks rather than using the iphone directly) are non existent. 10/10!

Unmentioned remote control - sweet
Can match the colour of the led display to any dash colour - there is a 99% match to the LCR red dash theme ( i leave it on the rainbow setting which changes like one of those mood light cubes)
Stream music via blue tooth to the unit so no wires from phone to head unit
In built blue tooth for phone calling - the mic simply plugs into the back of the unit, and because of the way the dash is built, there is a small gap in the drivers foot well which means you can run the mic to your indicator stalk without having to run loads of cable through a pillars etc. I used a knitting needle after reading someones review to do this and took about 30 seconds
USB cable charges the iphone too.
RBE function - this is awesome, and acts as a kind of low pass filter to the rear speakers (which are pretty decent in the LCR) and creates a mild sub effect, by boosting the low frequencies to your rear speakers. (That extra £150 i saved can now be used to upgrade the speakers for budget but exceptional awesomeness that only peter griffin can dream of)
Loads of equaliser options with a sub w control
If you are an electronic genius, you can also wire it into the headlights so that the unit dims when you turn your headlights on for night driving. (keeno, keeno)

The best thing was the unit arrived, i fitted it and there were no parts missing, no extra things needed, radio works, no problems.

The only thing I now want to sort is the memory - so i don't have to fiddle with it every time it comes on.

ONE QUESTION - this also happened on my ibiza 55 plate when i fitted the kenwood stereo - for the first time today, it was so cold, there was no power to the head unit until i had been driving for about 10 minutes and had warmed up..any ideas? not too awful but just really weird?

If your still awake, thanks for reading, hope it helps. Peace. :funk:

It could be the red/white wire and the red/yellow wire that need swapping, just to be clearer. Was the same for me when I did mine last week.

I just bought all this kit based on this post, it all works great. Couple of questions though: do you connect the blue aerial booster power wire to the light blue ATT lead on the wiring harness?
I have good radio reception, but an annoying ATT ON message as th head unit powers up which turns the volume right down until I press any button when normal operation resumes?? How can I disable the AT&T muting function??
