K-Line Worries...

Hi everyone ive done some searching around here and the web about the K-line.

basically im gonna change my original head unit very soon and dont want to get this wrong!

as far aas i know the "k-line" wil be attached to pin 3 on the block connector??
is this the case with every car?
if so, how do i get it out, just snip the cable?
finally will everything be hunky dory if i get rid of this?!

sorry for all the questions, but dont want to have a fu** up!!

oh, ps my car is a "W" reg Leon...

Just make sure there is nothing on pin 3 of the new stereo connector. There shouldn't be so it'll be fine.

if there is though whats the easiest way of getting rid? is it possible to poke the pins out?

Yes you can, but I doubt there will be anything on that pin.
