k03s fitted to leon cupra 2003?

hi people maybe a stupid question but did the leon cupra 2003 have the k03s fitted standard? only asking as i maybe able to get a turbo from one

yes mate they had ko3s. I bought mine from a member and he got it from a leon cupra. Only difference is that the leon cupra R has a ko4, all other models had ko3s. Get it if you can

did both the 180bhp and 210bhp models have k03s, and it done 54000 miles not sure if it has play yet but it was from a standard leon.

im sure someone will correct me if im wrong, but i think all leon cupras were 180bhp, they remap to 210, but the LCR came in two variants, 210 and 225 both with ko4s turbos.

ok mates thanks for the help would be nice for someone to confirm this. also noticed your running k03s on revo stage 2 which is what ill be running, what sort of power and torque figuers do you get? and does it feel much different to a k03 on revo 1 cheers

when you check the turbo, from what i have learnt, check for sideways play in the shaft, verticle movement and when you spin it make sure it doesnt hit the side. Also look for cracks in the casing and anywhere else

that maybe the problem its a bloke that doesnt know much about turbos and it not local i will talk him through checking it but might try to get it cheap and take the risk! what sort of price would you expect to pay?

I managed 225bhp with just under 280lb/ft of torque (279.4). It is alot better than stage 1 in my opinion, you dont get that kick of power then nothing hight up the rev range, its alot smoother and progressive. Some people slate REVO 2 but for the upgrade fee of 50quid you cant knock it. Think people running Jabba and CC maps get higher figures, but if you get the revo SPS box thingee you can fiddle about with the settings and fine tune it for more power.

On the plus side.... my average mpg is soooo much better now im on revo2, getting between 28-29mpg round town driving and up to 33-36mpg on motorway runs.

I payed 180 for mine and its been fine so far, been on just over a month. I dont abuse it alot, odd rag here and there, and its being run on low settings, or so i was told by AMD Essex

yeh i was well impressed with the low down grunt. Comes in around 2.5k and pulls cleanly to the red line now. Totally different to ko3 on revo 1 imo

I think ko3s is a worthwhile mod, definatly a difference to just a ko3

yea well i always think there was a problem with my turbo ever since it was mapped a month or 2 ago as it only made 179.5bhp which is 0.5bhp less than standard then i had a strange whistling from the turbo like a sort of super charger then it become 10 time worse and wouldnt boost then the oil sill must of blown empty all my oil out the exhaust with masses if white smoke! so i think a k03s which a stage 2 map shoulb be more than noticeble

Yeh mate that sounds like the signs of a failed turbo for sure. Get a KO3S on there with all the supporting mods and it will fly and bring a big to your face!
