Ordered the gaskets today so pick them up tomorrow so think thats going to be a job for us for tomorrow night lol

best of luck mate, hope it goes well, as with my car too:)

race on now to get it sorted first he he!!

Dannys sorted out the blowing, he left a nut off the manifold! But its still only boosting to 14psi, we did get some fault codes which are these
VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N

Only thing we don't know is if the wastegate has ever been touched
Jamie have you got any ideas if it has, as know its your old turbo?

Also could it be the n75? We can try swopping them when i get my car back, but does anyone know if it would cause this kind of problem?

Any help would be great!

well the N valve does affect boost so might. yes you can swap between yours and his to see if it changes anything.

somewhere on here it says how many threads you should be able to see after the nut on the wastegate. that way you could check if its been touched. just have no idea how many its supposed to be...sure someone will tell or try a search.

Finally got my net back on..

Yeah ive Tighened the manifold and Checked all my vac pipes and made sure my N75 Is the correct way round...

So the only thing to try now is a New n75 i was holding 10psi at 3.5krpm on my k03 turbo so the problem has been there..
Also that lambda code that has come up which one is it pre cat or post cat?

Pre cat lambda is bank one code. If you clear the codes and the sai leak one comes back then you have a leak or the n249 bypass is not happy. Charge pressure im not sure on at the moment as I have had a long day!

So is my N75 Knackered?

That lambda code has been there since i owned the car hence the 20mpg ive been getting lol...So is it Pre cat or post cat

edit: ive always had that Leak detected code aswell...

Sorry if iv repeated anythin anyones already said. Isnt the Secondary Air Injection System (SAI) the black plastic pump with the pipe running back up to your induction pipe? Have you by-passed it?
The Catalyst System: Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold was the same as mine and pre-cat lambda,ii fitted a cheap one and it really doesnt like it (My bad) and i also got the Charge Pressure Control fault when i had leaking vac pipes. :)

You have a leak for sure so fix that. It might be causing worse mpg. Your decat is the lambda fault. Bank one in the fault code refers to the pre-cat lambda. Your N75 is a long shot I think. Fix the other faults first as they may be your problem. Once they are fixed if you still have the problem you can look at other things. Absolutely no point trying to do anything like changing your N75 or get more boost until you have the other faults fixed.

Appreacited Pj :D

So were do i have to check to sort this Leak? were abouts should i start?

ta

or do what i did to test for boost leak take it to ADS and they will test it with smoke and can easily see if theres any leaks on the intercooler or vac pipes, it check's it all, cost me £35 last time saves alot of messing around.
