it had mot about 2 months ago not even that.
the cv joint isn't split and no grease spilling out

could track rod ends make the noise?
sounds like that area.
but I've jackd the car up and everything felt solid.
it only happens when turning. or sometimes over big bumps.

Is it when driving round corners yea.?

My pug done it before and it turned out to be a wheel bearing and cv joint on the way out.

is there any way to check?
its on like 90 degree corners
its both sides.
and it also makes the noise when going up and down potholes sometimes.

ok
surely the wheel bearing would make noise on straights?

do they have to be pressed in by a machine? or can be hand pressed?

id try somthing simple first, i know it might not make sense but it could be your brake pads rattling around try and grease them up and see if goes

I had a similar thing, but it made the steering a bit odd too, on my golf mk3 golf (worst car ever) and it was a broken antiroll bar.... tried that?

its not a rattling. its a clear dink metal noise.
which is quite loud.

would track rod ends make a knocking noise?

I had a mate who had a saxo who had the same problem, will call him and find out what it was, but you are deffo detailing the same simptums, I'm sure it was a easyish fix!!

beacuse the car has been lowered, your steering arms catching on a bolt, sorry for the vague description. This is what was wrong with my mates saxo.

Tried jacking it up both sides (axel stands) Turn the wheel to full lock and give the wheel a turn etc, see if it does it then maybe you could pinpoint the noise and check for any rubbing.

I've done that. everything seems solid. bushes seem ok condition but no pershing. so I don't know.

I do think its my track rod ends?

If you jack it up then the wheels will not be on the ground so you will be unable to identify the problem, It deffo sounds like the steering arms from the steering rack catching on something protruding!
