Got a knocking coming from the front right suspension I think, it only happens odd times going over speed bumps or bumpy road but its doing my head in.

Is there and things like this that are common problems?

Car is a 07 FR TDI with 65k on it.

Any help appreciated.

me too

I had exactly the sane problem. Only would knock on certain bumps etc.

Turned out it was a broken coil spring.
I changed the drop link at the same time as it was cheap.
If its not that on yours could be ball joint or bushes?
HTH

I was hoping it would be a simple straight forward answer. Might just stick it in a garage and let them sort it, hate trial and error when looking for the problem.

Cheers

Is anyone else having this problem, still haven't gotten to the bottom of it, car is now on lowered springs so it isn't a snapped spring, had new drop links on, still the same. It's in for an MOT next month but I don't think that will bring up the problem as it didn't last year, it's worse than ever now and really doing my head in.

It's mainly when driving over an uneven part of the road, or speed bumps.

It's been in a few times and they say everything on the suspension is fine, changed droplinks when I had my springs done as a precautionary measure but still no joy. I have a feeling it's the rear wishbone bush so that will be the next port of call, just fishing for opinions on here first really.

I got the same problem and I've done all the same things as you, shocks, springs top mounts and drop links still getting the noise, mostly over very rough tarmac. Only thing I can think of is steering rack or subframe, but again had all checked by good independent Vw/ Seat garage and they found nothing loose.

I really hope it isn't the steering rack mine, I'm gonna get the rear wishbone bush changed and see if that makes any difference.

Best of luck hope it is just a bush a lot cheaper than a new steering rack.

I had this turned out to be steering rack. Changed nearly every part even putting standard springs back on (seats advice as they said it was to low?)Took it to a few garages including seat twice but only 2 garges said it was the rack. never had a problem since changing it. And got my H&R springs back on
