1.8T Power

Have a slight dilemma. Would like more power from my cupra but not sure what to do. I already have a turbo back blueflame exhaust, air filter, forge 007p and some random remap that gave me 202bhp on JKMs rollers.

For the Ko3s obviously I need to get the turbo and probably a 4bar fpr and TIP and then mapping to get anything like 240bhp max. This will be more expensive as fitting will also have to be included so price wise I think the NOS will work out cheaper as its just the purchase and install which should cost no more than £600. The NOS would also give me more power etc as I could run either 50bhp or 100bhp jets I think.

However there is the added cost of having to keep the NOS bottle filled and obviously the NOS power is not there all the time unlike a ko3s would be.

Any opinions or comments especially from people that have experience from either or both these (even better if it on a cupra) would be greatly appreciated in helping me make my mind up!

I think you'll find NOS will get on your wick after a bit, re-fills are costly and the bigger the shot the less time you have.
Fine for the strip & great at 1st but i think a ko3s would be better in the long term.
Won't cost £600 fitted either!
Just my 2p.

turbo, as it's there when you want it! I can just picture the nos running out when you want to give it some!

TBH though i'd never actually do a KO3s, for the hassle and the gains i'd get something bigger.

I have been thinking ko3s but I would get more power with NOS although its not always there. Cant afford a bigger turbo as theres no other options for more power at the same cost so ko3s is about my limit. NOS can also be easily taken off to be sold if I sell my car or change my mind. Hmmmm

neither go IHI its alot more fun!!! :) but if ko3s is ur limit then id say turbo over NOS every time!

I've got a ko3s when changing the intercooler and ko3s, downpipe etc.. it gave me 42bhp according to the same rolling road!

Personally i'd go ko3s if i couldn't afford to go bigger but now I wish i went to maybe ko4 or eliminator ... only reason i didn't was because I didn't think standard clutch would last!

i would go new turbo, cos if i went NOS id go through god knows how many bottels per week,
50 bhp jets i think you get like 10 mins cont power so yeh id go through like 50 bottles a week which = £100s per week on refills which = $1000s a year

so cheaper to get new turbo and as ppl has said go IHI which is around the £4000 mark but you get 300-350 BHP for the life of the turbo
