Lap Belt On Centre Row Centre Seat

Hi.

I understand later model Alhambras have a 3-point seat belt for the middle seat in the centre row.

My 98 model has a 2-point lap belt, and I wonder if a seat from a later model can be fitted to give me a 3-point belt for my middle seat?

I'm guessing this depends on two things:

1. Are the seat mounting/attachment systems the same for all the models?

2. Is the 3-point belt in the later models fixed to the roof or to the back of the chair itself?

Thanks for any replies,

Mark

On my old year 2000 model Alhambra (which had a lap belt for the middle row centre seat - all of the Mk2's with filled-in headrests have a lap belt), I bought an extra chrome tie-down loop (the ones that go in the boot) and had it welded to a plate that I bolted to the centre seat using the same bolt as is used for the lap belt clip. When I wasn't using the two back row seats, which was most of the time, I could then attach the bottom end of the belt for the back row NS seat to this tie-down loop and use that as a 3-point belt for the centre seat. The belt webbing is just long enough to do this.

You follow this entirely at your own risk. I removed the loop from the centre seat and threw it away when I sold my car because I didn't want to be liable for anyone else!
