Had the REVO trial today and well ... I have to say i was pretty underwhelmed! :(

I noticed some extra power esp. in 3rd/4th gear (i.e. a but of a pull) but nothing to rave about. It was ok, i suppose ... or maybe i was just imagining it was better than it was?! Hmmm.

my LC is standard (no mods) so maybe i was just expecting too much. Then again REVO stage 1 is supposed to be generic and not mod reliant. And I know the trial is only about 70-80% of the real deal but I'm not sure that even with the extra 20-30% on top of this I could justify spending £470!

Maybe when it resets and goes back to the standard map i'll notice more in terms of the difference between standard and what i had with the trial software on.

time will tell.

Right now i'm dissapointed. But as i said, maybe i was just expecting too much based on the rave reviews on here about Revo.

Or maybe some folks on here are embarrassed at laying out £500 for little in return??? ;)

you may off had a good engine! and already got a few bhp over standard, you'll prob think you have lost power when the trial wears off.

the problem is you car is 180 bhp as standard and revo will put yours up to about 207. so around a 30 bhp increase with mine it was 150 and went to 207 as mine is very low on power for the 20vt but the engine has the same turbo as yours ( so it will remap to about the same) but i can see where your coming from though i can get a 60bhp increase and you get 30 for the same money

I was completely underwelmed when I got Revo full (I did not get a trial).

Adaption is a great thing! Give it a bit of time to adjust.

Get the full version let it adapt and then :-o You will definitely think it is worth it then.

I have a standard (except for Forge 007p DV) LC and I am always suprised by the power the car now puts out.

Dog Bone Mount on the way to keep those front wheels on the tarmac:D

There is something wrong with your car..Maybe a dodgy MAF...but a revo will make the car so mcu better...During my trial before i bought it, i ate an older integra type R with an exhaust and chip..It previously left my car when standard...Had no problems keeping up with it afterwards and over taking it.

Revo is a beautiful thing. :)

I know we aren't allowed to talk about our conquests on here these days but I have to say that I always struggled before I got Revo. Its a rare thing to get left these days though.

Far as im concerned, nothing wrong with playing with other cars..Long as its in the right place and Time. As you siad, its a rare thing to get left now. And iv played with some tidy cars.

I drove the car last night after the 5 hour trial was over. While i felt a very slight decrease in power now it's back to standard I have to say it wasn't a decrease that will entice me to pay £470 for Revo on the off chance that once it "adapts" I'll be convinced.

As I say, I think I was expecting too much based on the chat on here. I was expecting it to be like a totally different car power wise.

I think I need a Scoob!

i didnt go revo but on my first map the power felt amazing. summat not right here. id get yourself vagcomed see if alls well.

scoobies are nice but with all the running costs bigger turbo on your lc would be cheaper. ;)

im sorry to hear you are not impressed with the revo trial you had, I am surprised that you did not feel much extra power? when I got mine I felt a nice increase that made me smile from ear to ear, got my brother to test drive also and he was very impressed.

I would say you have an underlying issue as to why your car did not give you the feeling of a faster car, shame you have not got vag com to do some logs. (maybe maf sensor is on its way out)

Agree with other people on here that something is not quite right, maybe try the apr free trial and compare, if that also does not impress then there is something wrong.

At Santa pod, although obviously without 4wd you can't hope to be better off the line, I ate into my friends Sti once moving, LC + Revo - 4wd transmission losses = Sti (my mate's gone and bought a a modified Imprezza P25 now so it KILLS me at the Pod)

On your trial did you notice the difference in the pitch of the turbo?

resets the ecu, unlearns anything & defaults to learning - and because I said so :)

won't it just re learn over time? or is a reset essential. (newbie so be gentle mork!)

CupraUK: I did notice some extra power with the trial as i said, the car was defo a bit more aggresive but NOT £500 more aggrressive.
