Obviously now I have drilled holes all away along the vent I'm going to have to dremel the whole slat out now

So I think some black mesh will make it a bit smarter or I can just leave it as it is?

The black part is part of the bumper as said.

To mesh it you'll prob have to remove the bumper to glue the mesh to the back?


Turn it down if it melts it, to fast and it welds itself back together again.

The more air you can get to your SMIC the better, as Leee said earlier you can try venting your arches like the TT's have to allow a good passage of air through it.

Good idea... I'm not sure how can open the splash guard up without making a mess of it ...

I just think the cooling on the LC is crap even in standard form... barely sufficient let alone on a mapped car. I dread to think what the EGT's are on a hot summers day...

Whose going to be the first to cut a huge hole in the bumper then?

What would be rather cool is to create a scoop from removing the fog light that fits with the grill part.

I'm going to open the slat up completely and finish off opening the grill up as well so its getting plenty of air...

Guy on rolling road said there was a gap behind the SMIC for hot air to disperse?

Plan to remove it all again this week and have a play with Mr Dremel

Dremel has now removed the whole slat... - Looks MUCH better... edges need some more cleaning up but will do for now.

On my face lift LC the other day I logged 58 rising to 70 doing a 3rd gear run. Outside temp was around 13.

Take the fog light out its right in front of the intercooler......the passengers side one is perfect for a cold air feed to the airbox to.

If it's any help on an unmapped LCR (210) with Forge FMIC my AIT's were 29 Degrees C with 17 Degrees C ambient, this was on the road not RR, on full boost in 4th gear.

custom fmics come in at around 250 if you diy. more messing around but tons of info on them on here mate.

try standard smic, vented with increased airflow, add a phenolic insulator gasket and see what that does to temps first. thatll cost you 60quid... if still not happy, the gasket works well with fmic aswell.

The coolers are £80-100

Pipe kit £75

MAP pipe £30?

I replaced all my silicon with really good quality stuff and all my clamps with T bolt clamps that cost me about £130 but if your not fussy you can use the stuff that comes with the pipe kit

Vacum pipe, 25mm pipe, a 90deg metal elbow to put DV into TIP and odd brackets etc prob about £20

So you could do it for around £200 but I spent the extra to get it excatly how I wanted it and I'm very pleased with it.

I would however say that the FMIC's me and the LCR owners use only really fit behind the LCR bumpers.....I have got mine on behind my facelift bumper and in my opinion it looks mean as fook but its hardly stealth.
