LCR 210 vs 225

Hi all

I'm in the process of looking for and buying an LCR. Have come across a lovely black LCR 210 and a nice silver LCR 225.

I have read the thread about the actual differences between them but what I would like to know is would I notice any real difference in speed between the two?

I currently drive a 1.6 mk1 focus which I rushed into buying which I regretted doing so, I'm trying not to make the same mistake again.

No there is no real difference and no extra gains from remaping a 210 or 225 mines a 210

If you can push it to the 225 go for it, but otherwise little or no differences

The only reason is the silver LCR 225 has had its price reduced by 1500 due to keying. Frankly can't be arsed having to sort it out and I think i'll opt for the black 210.

Ive got a 225 and been thinking about the exact same thing!

They have the same turbo right?
so whats the point in releasing the two - id imagine some cosmetic differences maybe...insurance group?


whats the official performance figures of the two? would be interesting to know

Stering wheel different on the 225 and badges they all came with tear drop mirrors there is a post some where

This is the car in question. They look like teardrop mirrors. The guy said it was 210? Maybe (hopefully) he is wrong lol.

I think originally the 210 Audi S3 was released not a 225 due to Audi not wanting the S3 to upstage the TT.

Likewise i think the same went for VAG not wanting to have the LCR upstage the S3 until late 2003 when the S3 had long since gone out of production

Side by side there will be no performance difference, just really the advantage of the 225 being the newer model.

map the car, you'll get the same performance

both remap to the same like dan said steering wheels diff the 210 is amk engine and the bhp is 212
the 225 is bam and is 222 bhp everything else is the same

225 as a fancy wheel, silver pedals, tear drop wing mirrors, and the temp sensor for the coolent is the green one, common job that needs replacing on the 210
