LCR Alternator

MY LCR has developed a ridiculously loud high pitched squeel which goes away when you wd40 the alternator for about two minutes then comes back.

Its driving me mad and the dash lights flicker aswell which i think is linked to the alternator issue.

I think its Fubarbed!

So whats the cheapest option and how long to fit?

Should i take it off?

Is it cheaper to ask for an audi one or anything, are they universal across the range?

Is it worth getting a second hand one as theres one on here for £50.

Any help would be great, cheers guys!

Clutch on the end of the alternator or the alternator itself.
If the latter mine was around £120 takes about 30 minutes to fit, don't forget once they go, we have DBW and you get no throttle pedal very early on when the battery doesn't receive it's charge.

yeah you can if caught early enough, mine was to worn though i was told.

thats funny because my car is quite spluttery down low like it holds back slightly when just applying the throttle gradually.

Do you think it could be that?

Doubt it as the throttle just stops working full stop.

i think its just when its cold. i dont mean spluttery i mean just a tine bit hesitant.
