LCR Brake Pads = Focus RS Brake Pads?

A friend of mine put me in touch with a guy who is doing ds2500 pads for a good price. I'm double checking that they're the right ones for the LCR's Brembos and he says that they're the same as the Mk1 Focus RS. Can anyone confirm this for me before I part with the cash?

Yes, confirmed the Focus rs run the same Brembo Caliper. But please think before you go any further, This site is run with the help of sponsorship from firms who supply similar parts, without it, we have no site. Thanks guys. I've actually edited the original message now. Had been on to Badger5 about sourcing some a couple of weeks back and was intending on ordering this week or next. In this instance I'm going to stick with a more local supplier though. No offence meant to Badger. Thanks

What I would say is that the DS2500's provided the best compromise in pad performance for the LCR.

The OEM Brembo pads were adequate, Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads were too aggresive (Too much dust and over heated the disks too easily making the fluid boil and the disks warp temporarily).

I did try one other set, can't recall the manufacturer.........my memory is going

You can offset the cost of these pads by fitting them yourself, fitting the disks and pads on an LCR is as easy as falling off a bike on an icy morning, even for someone as mechanically inept as me........seriously don;t pay a garage to do it.

Thanks Steve. I've never fitted pads myself but will be getting a mate to show me how and doing them myself in future.

Turned up today, next day delivery (ordered yesterday around 2pm I think). Will take longer to get them fitted!

as said discs and pads are easy. I did my first set without a guide, thats what you call on the job training!

Yeah, I appreciate that, but you clearly don't understand how ham-fisted I really am With something as important as brakes, I'd like someone to make sure that it's done properly the first time. Usually I can do anything the second time, but like that assistance on the first.
