Dear All,

My emission light in the LCR just came on. This same thing happened about 3 years ago and the AA reset it. However I now do not have AA Membership. Anyone with VAGCOM in the Slough Area?

Do you think a battery reset would clear the light?

Regards.

for the sake of £30 off ebay mate you can get a code reader, then just google the code, its handy in the future aswell.

yes you can just get the cable but the handset is handy to keep in the car, if your away from home you can still sort it then,

I managed to get the AA to come out and they reset the fault code on the ECU. Its been 2 days and the light has returned.

I have brought the vag com cable as well in case the problem returns. Strange how I just had the fuel filter changed and the car serviced and mot by Seat Dealer 1 week before.

Rang Seat and the dealership told me that a ecu reset would cost £ 47, however the warrenty would pay for this if there was a fault. Accordling to SMC Seat the light coming on is not a fault and a ecu reset is not covered under warrenty. Useless dealership again!!!

Regards.

kwan, MIL lights only show for a reason. what's the reason? no point resetting when action needs to be taken
