Hey!

My 05 reg (27k miles) failed it's mot today due to a snapped OEM exhaust mount (rear section)! Looking at the backbox it has sagged slightly but isn't loose!

How easy is this to fix without buying a brand new section (£270 from seat)?

Is this a common fault?

Retest a week tomorrow so need to fix it quick :(

Thanks :)

Had same prob with my LCR. Garage simply welded snapped bracket; no need for new exhaust - don't be fobbed off/told otherwise. 5 min job, any half-decent garage can do it.

put a jubilee clip around the bracket and exhaust, same has happened to mine. jubilee clip was the best thing to do.jack the car up and do it yourself. doesnt have to be welded on at all aslong as it is secure it cannot be failed on the mot :D its harder to weld to a corroded exhaust and normally the weld will blow holes in the exhaust itself.
