lol well we were both wrong then :bleh:

oooo a few people on here rant its important

so with that info then this will engage when its been on for a wile i guess, not when its cold

Reading this forum regularly just transfers my paranoia from one thing to another on a weekly basis. Last week was clutch. Next week will be something else!

ok im new to my lcr. had a golf 1.8t before, just been out to listen after switch off, mine seems to be working nicely, sigh of relief!

it should work everytime you turn the engine off even if its on ran for a few seconds. mine worked sometimes but then sometimes it wouldnt. i followed the guide on here to repair it and its been working fine ever since.

A word of warning for you guys , if you have replaced your cooling fan control box at any point with one that is not for an LCR , your secondary water pump will not work :) as it runs through this.

This box is located under the battery.

One of my fans doesn't work and I attempted a fix with the nime box but it doesn't work.

Can't hear my pump going after I switch the engine off. Could the two be linked?

I will pull the pump out tomorrow for a good look.

Ive used to nime box and it works a treat, it may be that your fan control box is knackered.

Checked the fuses?

Turns out mine does actually work, I just looked in the wrong place before and couldnt hear it due to the ambient noise. It's not as loud as I was expecting form some reason.

Anyway, thats one less thing to worry about. Now to figure out my fans issue :)

Just checked mine and it appear to be not working, just switched my engine on and off. Will check tomorrow when i've had a drive to see if that makes any difference.

Well i cleaned mine out yesterday after it was making a strange noise and now it's not working at all after a 15 minute drive. I've checked the voltage to the pump and it's 0.27v which seems a bit low to me, does anyone know what voltage the pump should be getting?
Cheers
Rich
