Recently I;ve noticed theres a creaking noise coming from the rear of my LCR. You can just hear it when you are slowly pulling away from a stand still and also when I get out of the car. You can hear it quite loud when you push the car from side to side. Only thing is, its not always there. Sometimes it goes away, but when you hear it, its quite noticeable. The car is a 2005 done 45K and I only got it from SEAT 4 months ago. Is it worth getting them to check it and is it likely its going to be something covered by the warranty?

Only creaking i get from my LCR is due to the addition of a 28mm ARB or if the handbrake is not on or off fully

Was thinking about this last night.
When I removed my OEM rear springs there was a lead/alloy spring seat that was worn away to nothing.
Wonder if its the rear springs scraping on the spring seats.
Perhaps try to remove these springs and coat the seat in a heavy duty grease

I've left this for the past week but the noise is still there. Infact I think its there all the time now. Think I'm going to get it checked. If I put it into SEAT to look at it, do they charge you to look at the car? I was looking through the used car warranty policy and it says if they find a fault thats not covered by warranty then you have to pay the cost of time to dismantle/inspect your car. Whats people experience of this? Dont want to put the car in, then find out its either no problem or not covered so they charge me for checking it out.

Ok rules out that theory then....

Brakes sticking on slighty? They will creak when you pull away if the pistons arent fully retracting when you release the handbrake or footbrake....

But that still doesnt explain it when you rock the side from the side at a standstill and you definately hear loud creaking coming from the rear suspension. Think i better still get it checked out, but was wondering if people had any experiences of the used car warranty from SEAT??

well it was checked by the dealer and they said they couldnt find anything wrong and put it down to most likely the brakes binding a little. They also said my rear seats werent adjusted properly and rattling a little so that could of been the noise. Since I got it checked a checked a couple of months back I've not noticed the noise.

I have this one my LCR too. I only notice a noise from the rear when I get out of the car, ie. leaning out to th side. I did wonder if something needed doing, so maybe I might have a word with the local dealer or something. Again, mine is stock (apart from an induction kit) from the guy I bought it from. Just looks silly when you get out of your lovely, shiny, aggressive looking car, some people are about, and it sounds like a 10 year old Nova :)

When I removed my oem suspension there was an alloy plate (well corroded) that was below my rear springs. Perhaps this is an 'anti creak' device that wear out.

According to vag cat its a 'ring' lol
