My LCR210's steering wheel is looking tatty and faded after 96,000 miles. Is it worth having it refurbed or should I just replace it? Was thinking of getting the 225 wheel instead. Simple things like the red at the top of the wheel do it for me :D

What ever you do mate keep the original, as in my opinion when buying cars if the wear on the steering wheel doesn't match the wear on the car it usually starts alarm bells ringing.

just worth mentioning in my opinion!

Clearly whoever owned the car before me drove like me, ie right hand on the wheel, left hand on leg or gear stick, as the right hand side of the wheel has no black left on it :D

Here are a couple of pics of the condition of the thing (+ the gear knob)

You think that's all it needs? If so then I'd be REALLY happy! Oddly it never occurred to me to even consider it. This is why I ask :D Thanks

It's worth a try, Do it on a small it first and rub it to make sure it dont come off on your hands

Saw another post where someone used a black perminant black marker and looked really good in the pics, would only do on a small section first though to test.

I would recommend getting them refurbed by a leather specialist. Should cost you much maybe 60-70 in total but they will look as good as new.

I'm nervous about the shoe-polish Daz, I think I'm going to have to consider the refurb now Maz has suggested it :D or a new 225 wheel. Gah, decisions! If only either were available on eBay!
