like i said nev i'm sure ARB's, strut brace on the front and spacers would totally transform the car, all relativly cheap to do. like dolby said though it begs the question "why not do this and sell the car for an extra £700 from the factory?"

that said this would probably make it a tad too harsh for other buyers that aren't as performance driven as us lot!

your spot on but then where do you stop as a manufacture, diff, 4wd, full stainless system, more power, just buy an exige. :p

thats the whole point of modifacation, make it your own.

just adding a rear arb made a huge difference and it did make me wonder why it didnt leave the factory with one already.
i think its for safety, less likely to crash a understeering car as its more obvious its let go so to speak. add the fact that seat fit shite tyres so youve little chance of cornering in the first place :)

is that the autodrome @ bedford? i'd be interested to know what you make of the CG locks; if not some nice bucket seats i reckon will be my route in the distant future!
Danny CG lock is the dog bollox.
I've had mine for 2 year and honestly wouldn't be without it.
I'm not skinny or fat but this keeos me welded to the seat. Until you fit one of these you don't realise how much you move about in your seat on braking and cornering.
This isn't as good as a harness but 100% better than the seat belt only.
For £40 if your doing track days or enjoy spirited driving this is a must.

This is said lightly in other cases but it is the best £40 you will spend on your car to get better handling.
You can go faster into corners and brake later due to you not squirming about in your seat. Also go round corners quicker as you don't fall out of your seat.

Get it done, you won't regret it.

CG shares about to go up:)

if the manufacturer had put a little more effort into the supension, i.e an extra £2000 premium, the LCR would of been a classic...dont forget it was £18k new, and the focus ST is around £20k nowadays!!....back in the day, a SEAT was value. in every review it was value, value value...simple as that, whereas it could of been a blinder....but for some reason it never gets mentioned in hot hatch circles.

manufacturers have no need putting stainless exhaust systems on from the factory because they all fall under the options list... and anyway, most hot hatches are renowned for handling prowess..e.g renaultsport williams, clio 182, etc. still to this day i will never understand buyers of these cars going on about how uncomforable it is, or loud it would be with a exhaust etc etc.....hot hatch cars arent about conformity they are about being the loudest, hardest and fastest of the family car sector...

Another vote for CG- Lock here, they really help us skinny types and help sort out back ache on long drives! Agreed Bret but dont forget the mk1 was in it to change peoples minds about Seat as a brand and so most people missed it till now, they were too busy lookin at golfs and focuses. Seat hadn't made there mark, problem is or was that LCR sold well better than they expected and so they sat on laurels a bit for mk2, plus they mustn't compete with big uncle audi!!!

Most likely at work
i know, that audi thing would keep leons from outshining everybody...

iv been meaning to ask, what are spacers?how do they improve your handling?what sizes do you need?
is it necessary to get them if you have a rear ARB and front upper strut brace?

spacers are adapters that go between your alloy and the hub, they are designed so different alloys can be made to fit over big brakes....if you put them on the rear wheels this allows the rear track to be wider which will increase handling, especially at the back, will also give stability under braking...

the more the merrier for handling modifications

Seat only have access to the VAG parts bin, Renault can get a bespoke supplier to provide suspension. Factor in that the LCR was already perceived to be taking sales from other VAG brands (premium Audi and VW cars) and we may have some of the reasons why

Why not put spacers on the front as well? widen the track all round

From what I have read, the LCR has a 19mm /side wider track as standard; so just putting 15mm spacers on the back brings the wheels almost inline; also 15mm on the back and the wheels still sit in the arches nicely; anymore than around 5mm on the front and i think they would stick out a fair bit?

got it in one buddy, the track is wider at the front. i dont understand why people widen the front unless you have different wheels that need clearance for the brakes...

a LCR with 15 or 20mm rear spacers looks really cool...check skorchios (nick) LCR out..

Another vote for CG lock. really good bit of kit. I drove my brothers audi A4 the other week, without one. You dont realise how much you move around with just a regular seat belt.

I assume it's designed that way by the manufacturer?....for a reason?

You guys ever tried any on the front just to even things up, see if the car is even better?

Not being as versed in suspension geometry as you gys I stuck 10mm (Forge) spacers on the front and rear
