Got some more jobs ticked off the list

Super pro bushes all in. The old ones were proper ruined!!

Custom rear brake pipes 1 piece!


Also found someone had bodjed the front brake flexi into the calliper. Used the wrong type banjo and now cut an imperial thread into the calliper. So having to tap to m12 and get custom front braided hoses made

Also I am horrified to post pics of those lovely bushes in the old rusty arms and rear beam. Will be getting pulled over winter for a proper refurb but only 1 week till donnington and then only 3 1/2 weeks till the ring.

So its been a while.....

Cant really remember where I got to, I failed to get the car running right to where I thought it was at a suitable place to take it to the ring, especially as I would be driving it there...

So i bought a trailer....now it can get full on death all day!!

So ive taken some time out and with the help of lockdown and no travk days to really address the car.

Earlier in the year I got

KW Clubsport suspension fitted
Sold engine mounts fitted
Full abs delete with tilton brake bias, all lines run inside car now...no abs means its now a man's car
Bought some.loghter weight rotas too, the grey ones, they're jap style but hey let's be different. Silver rotas are 17s with uniroyals on for wet.

I did cadwell in Feb and donnington park in March.

Car was absolutely fantastic....but theres always more to do.

So ive decided to basically strip back, clean, rebuild and light weight as I go.

So ive stripped every wire out the loom thats not needed, right back to fuse box, saved a fair bit of weight!!

Ive also lopped any disused brackets studs etc off I can.

I stripped front bumper off to mount the coolers properly as they were mounted by stevie wonder. Surprised they didn't fall off. At the same time ive lightweighted the slam panel, deleted the headlight mounts and made some from the slam panel and also the wing mounts.

Got to take some more plastic out the front bumper too.

And ive fully stripped out underneath, had a full de grease and clean and im spraying it underneath with upol raptor bed liner, car is actually really solid, minimal rust and its superficial thankfully

Everything getting cleaned and painted as it goes up,

Crappy oil leak as it turns out was head gasket, so thats been done now, found the turbo gasket was also blowing so hopefully will make a few more ponies on the dyno.

Now.....ive also ordered carbon fibre bonnet and tailgate due in first week of july

And....a full tubular front subframe and bottom arms, was limited to the amount of castor and camber I could achieve on the standard set up...that wouldn't do.

Save 6kg on the subframe and csrbon is supposed to be 50% of the steel panels.

Anyways lots of pics here, deadline is 20th july to be fully built and set up as I WILL make nurburgring and zandvoort at the start of August.

Any questions feel free to ask sure ive missed stuff....and yes I should be able to quote a weight when its done

So tonight I finished getting the last few bits off from underneath, degreased last few areas, attended to some suspect cruddy areas, then etch primed those nice clean steel parts, masked it all up ready for tomorrow to get the underside painted

Tomorrow will also see the rear beam be cleaned down and painted.

Then Friday we can go for a big rebuild!! All being well

What intercooler are you running and what does it fit like for space.. I am thinking of designing a vertical flow intercooler so hot in the too and cold out the bottom like a natural flow.

Hi mate not sure on the make of the cooler.

There's a surprising amount of room as there is no crash bar fitted, if i was building ad you are now id be making a custom tubular slam panel then you could easily get some thick cored stuff jn there
