I have Vag Com :D I just don't like to use it very often for fear of breaking things :D I want to enable the auto-locking doors like the Mrs has in her Leon, but couldn't work out how

yep im similar:redface: but the fault checks easy enough although it still seems magical to me that an instrument that specifically spends 99% of its life being used to play patience suddenly has the power to control and communicate with my engine, and can make the radio come on by itself!

do a search in the vagcom section re the doors. try the ross tech site too

Yeah, that's what I mean. Mine doesn't do it. I just got used to it in her car, which we bought first, and I'd like it in mine. I'm told it's something you can enable/disable in VAG Com, but couldn't see it when I looked for it.

Probably has been switched off in VAGCOM by previous owner? Dont think its hard to switch back on.

EDIT - I put it down to tyres Ant. Even with diff if you got bad tyres the TCS gets very very frustrating.

Just had the GSD3s fitted today. I asked a mate who has them on his car earlier about scrubbing them in and he suggested 100 miles to be safe. I asked the guy in the tyre place and he said "should be OK now". Bearing in mind that it's wet here (roads are wet anyway, it's not raining) so I didn't believe him. I came out of the tyre place and turned up hill. I gave it a little beans to see what happened and sure enough the tyres spun a little (not unexpected at all). BUT, the thing that I did notice, is that there was no banging from the traction control, as there was when I had two different types of tyre on the front, so already it's a massive improvement and the ESP seems to be dealing with it much better too, so yeah, I agree, it's the tyres! :D

Agreed. When I bought the car it had/has two Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta on the rear, a Mohawk and something else unmatched on the front. All four are being replaced by Saturday with brand new F1 GSD3s

Have you thought about getting the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric's instead of the GSD's? I used to have GSD's but switched to Asym's after 2 of the GSD's were found to be faulty (manufacturing fault which lead to one blowing out on the motorway :-o). I've found the Asym's to be everybit as good as the GSD's and they are much quieter and I get a slightly better MPG. I think they are a little more expensive though.

Yeah, £17 more expensive. I did consider them, but an extra £68 was a bit too much at the moment. Were I just changing a pair then I probably would've done it, but not for all four.
