IHI produces it power so much diff from stnd turbo'd Seats. I always thought the Lcr's diff would cope. And i also thought it already had a 240mm clutch. Maybe speak to wilko with the IHI'd golf as its the nearest thing to a IHI'd Lcr.

Milke at jabba said the diff and clutch would cope. But with that kinda power you might aswell change it to a lsd and whilst the gearbox is out for the diffs you might aswell get the cluth done too,

a garret on a LCR should be a piece of cake compared to the Ibiza :p  ;) lots of space in comparison, If anyone interested in such a conversion we are getting close to providing pretty much everything that is needed as we fabricate pretty much everything and dont buy it in

I may be very interested. What sort of cost is involved?

I take it that this would include the AM FMIC and LCR 3" exhuast  !!!

I have a 2004 Leon Cupra R about 6 months old and have reached a predicament (hope thats how its spelt)! Do I stop modding and keep my warranty in tact or do I go full wack and have the following:

- Jabba IHI stage 3 turbo upgrade
- AM 3" exhaust + sports cat
- AM FMIC
- AEM Cold air induction (from space saved with single IC :bleh: )

Id Flog it and with the money i saved buy something more powerful and RWD to begin with. There is only so much you can do with FWD. Figures are great and all but a good solid RWD will kick ass much better. Ever thought of a S/hand M5?

You think? :p ;)

I aint come across anything that can live with stage3 ihi. I know a m3 the new model and one before cant keep up. And M5 cant either even though there a little quicker than the new m3. There are without doubt cars quicker than ihi but they are few and far between. As you move up (power wise) it takes an even greater car to do u over. If i was doing it all again i would get an Rx7 and really get some power from it.

so a S/hand R33 or R32 Skyline wouldnt outdo a FWD IHI Golf/Leon/IBIZA?
Really?
And are we talking on a track or straight line?
Bill would you agree with this?
Do you not think a s/hand 996 would be quiker round the ring than an IHI'd SEAT/Golf?

Standard Skylines are slow anyway. In reality there a 300bhp car with 1500-1600kgs of weight and in some cases 4wd (200bhp/ton). Thats slower than a p1 or stnd Evo6. I think the skylines are prob all round the kings of the tuning world. But in stnd form are a barge they need modding to get going. As i said theres faster stuff out there than IHI but i aint found anything yet, but this is because you have moved up the scale and cars of this nature are few and far between compared to 150-200bhp cars.

just out of interest i noticed a while back that bill's 0-120mph time was almost identical to a standard audi rs4.

beside whats power without handling?
do u really thing that a 300+ BHP lcr could handle as well as a skyline?
and most skylines stock RR'd at around 340 not 300

I aint seen any stnd Skylines dyno at 340bhp. But i aint ever really looked hard would be intresting to see a link to a stnd Skyline producing 340bhp though.

Even at 340bhp its still only 212bhp/ton. Nothing impressive.

0-100 in 11 secs and 0-60 in 5.4 would indicate to me that in gear times are savage.

As for being slow round corners, ask Tiff Needell why he couldn't shake a yellow shopping car off round Castle Coombe in a Radical SR3. Tiff was probably less impressed to see him go past down the straights, Radical being quicker through the corners........I also recall a post by a seriously miffed M3 CSL owner :)
