Lease delivery times

Ordered my VZ2 310 from Leasing Options back in June. Was told it would be October delivery, but then delayed to December.

LO have contacted me to say the car is at the dealer now, but they won’t allow collections because of Covid, and the next available delivery slot isn’t until 4th Jan.

Frustrating that it’s sat there and I can’t get to it, but thankfully I don’t need a car much over Christmas. At least a nice new shiny Formentor will help get over the January ‘back to work’ blues. 😀

Thats great news!

I'm a bit suspicious that they won't let you collect the car because of Covid? I bet if you went there as a new customer they wouldn't turn you away...

Probably. I wanted to collect mine and asked before covid 56754334 millionth variant hit but was told the dealership don't like to do handovers because they're too busy.

I feel like they want to keep it in their showroom to show potential customers.
Funny you should say that, the salesman where I ordered my VZ2 310 admitted that the dealer hasnt had one in yet, and would like if they could put it in the showroom for “a few days” to show off. Said they would keep it locked. I told them that I don’t want that happening

It would make sense... I also saw through the FB group that this has already happened due to stock levels. I would not be happy if they did this with mine.

Exactly the same as me. Been waiting 7 months and my VZ3 is sat at the dealership with DM Keith and can't collect due to covid and first delivery date is the 5th Jan. Fuming as have been chasing to sort the delivery prior as knew this would be the case, very poor excuse about covid so tried to arrange earlier collection but having none of it. The wait goes on.

Makes no sense. I think it's just to have some cars in their showroom/court. I bet if you rang and asked if it's okay to view a car they would welcome you down.

So you cannot go and collect it. But someone else can collect it from them and drop it off to you. Would it not be safer to skip the delivery driver. What if YOU were the one with COVID restrictions and wanted to minimise contact? That delivery driver is probably going to hop on public transport afterwards or will jump in with another person and will be doing that all week long. It just makes no sense at all.

I’m pretty sure the dealer wants it as a Jan 22 sale for their purposes. The customer will be the last of their priorities.

That’s the exactly same dealer my car is with. DM Keith in Leeds. I’m based in Liverpool, so it’s not like I can ‘pop’ round, but frustrating to know it’s there when I could easily go and collect, but instead they say it has to be delivered. Don’t understand how a delivery compared to collection is any less of a Covid risk. One person handing over to another. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes its pretty shocking mate to think that the car is actually at the showroom, i have a friend in a Volvo garage and he said with all the new stock going out and none in he`s having to put in sales Demos or 2nd hand cars in the showroom to show what they have its not good as their waiting time has gone up to august next year for some models my heart would be in the mouth thinking would they do test drives with them to show customers, id still check the milage.

I've been with Nationwide Vehicle Contracts who were okay. First Vehicle Leasing who were brilliant. Now with Leasing Options who are the worst.
