Had the car remaped at storm and rolling road shows it at 116-120bhp, so i've been to storm tonight with Miles who is an awesome guy, just got back and we are not closer to this whatsoever.

I have the engine code ASV, 80k miles 2005 reg.... and its silver?

What we have checked:
Hoses
vacs etc
we tried different mafs but a new ones coming tomorrow.

What we noticed:
There was bubbles in the duel line! is this nromal?
Fuel filter is from 2005 so were changing that tomorrow to hope it solves the problem.
Boost is about 1.1Bar (Is this about what a Custom Code Remap should do?)
Air flow is about 850 and clips 1060 on peak.

Does anyone have any insight! ?

ASV TDI110

Right this all started when i went to get a Custom Code Remap, went and paid my money, drove off, didnt seem to feel different, but im a bit of a mupet you see so i went and took it on the rollers, to find she was pushing 116.4 i.e Stock!

So went back to my Garage, who took a look at it, switched the code to see if anything changed, chucked it on the rollers....

118.3Bhp at 1.1Bar boost

so we thought the cars down on power lets try a few things, CC said MAF, so we got a new MAF and changed the Fuel Filter, which was a 2005 and rusty filter so god knows how long thats been in there and how many times seat have lied to me.

anyhow,

121Bhp now (Y) getting better 1.1Bar still

So we did a run on this and then turned the map back to standard.

Zing. neglegable difference.

119bhp. 1.1 Bar

waited overnight for CC diesel specialist to see if he can sort out a different map as his map and the standard have no difference, this was when we found the problems with the 2005 Non PD 110 Engine, Apparently due to emission laws passed i have a sort of hybrid PD and non PD engine, engines the same but the VAC Lines are obviously not and the ECU is different.
(i wonder if this means i can go about saying my car is Number 99 out of 200)

Next morning (last saturday) I proceed down to have the new map put on,

Bam 132BHP (1.5Bar Peak) and a completely different power line!! It's worked, holding boostr nicely. but its not as much as id think.

So we cleaned the EGR Valve out, (not too bad but still dirty!).

Rolled again

134.9Bhp with 210lb/ft

So not bad all in all but not quite the 140+ i was expecting.

So i was wondering if there was anything else i could do to try and boost these figures a bit (like cleaning things out etc) :)
Possibly remove the rear silencer for a straight through pipe etc. I think the guy who did all this for me is still questioning custom code as to where the power loss has gone.

air bubbles in the fuel line I cant see affecting it like that. Equally whilst the fuel filter should be changed sooner, cant see it losing you 20 odd brake.

true :( James dont suppose you mind popping the hood and having a look at the clear fuel pipe see if you got a bubble or two?

no buddy I can tell you from memory I have bubbles in mine too - put a couple more in when I changed my filter too lol. Shouldnt cause any problems as they aren't going anywehre - will just sit there. I think the fuel system is self bleeding anyway so should eventually disappear if they were big enough.

Something else I think mate. If you need something to compare it to then give me a shout - I'm 2 mins from storm as well.

A turbocharged car on a rolling road in hot weather is more likely to have lower power readings. If it drives well then perhaps wait until a cold day and do another dyno run.

i dont think the heat is gonna loose 30bhp on my car,

especially with the fan blowing cold air into the front.

we shall see tonight.

Fan isn't blowing cold air, its blowing ambient air from the workshop you are in (unless they have some kind of refridgeration unit)

If the air temp on the day is 30'C, then all the fans will do is move lots of 30'C air.
As lordgibbness says, a cold day may make a little difference

Still, a 30bhp drop is huge, I'd want to see 145-150 from a mapped 110

ambient or not, it wont be losing him 30 degrees.

Having spoken to james again it sounds like the map- CC are apparently looking into it.

I hope this isn't a mistake custom-code make regularly: applying the wrong map to the wrong engine.

So is this because your car isn't a common version of the VAG 110 TDI unit? Does it have a different engine code? Shouldn't C-C only supply the new map after receiving your existing map from Miles?

No its very uncommon, its due to EU law and Emissions that were brough in part way through 2005, so only like 100 or so 05+ 110leons will have this engine. so as you can imagine CC probably havn't seen to many. The first map was made to work with my ECU but for some reason didnt. We don't know why, but they got there top diesel guy to sort it out and now its working fine giving me about 106BHP and 160lb/ft at the wheels, which im happy with.

so they've returned it to stock to re work the map and then reapply later?

why did they return it to std if you had it pushing 134??
