I've had my Cupra for about 3weeks now and I'm actually surprised how high the road/tire noise is in the cabin compared to my Leon X-perience 2017.
The X-perience was running 205/55-17 wheels while the Cupra has the standard 235/35-19 with tires rated to 72dB.
I'm thinking of changing down to 18" and run 225/40 for a "smoother" driving experience and also getting tires rated to 67-68dB.

Has anyone else done this to a Cupra or any Leon?
Was there a big improvement?
Is it worth doing or just a waste of money?

Mines the same. Looking to move to Michelin PS4S shortly and from what I’m told they handle better and are less noisy roadwise.
I can tell you tomorrow.just booked for ps4 tyres on front.factory fitted tyres really noise however good old uk roads not help too.
Some smooth road really tolerable noise level.

Those Contis are rubbish. Get some quieter tyres, PS4S are quieter and way better grip wise.

But also spend £60 on some sound deadening for under the rear bench and in the boot. Makes a big difference too.

You dont happen to have some pictures or advice on how to do it and where to buy it?
I've never added insulation to any car previously.

First thing I noticed when I replaced my stock P Zero's with the Ps4s's was less road noise and comfier, infact that difference was greater than the grip difference!

These are the before and after pics when I installed the sound deadening stuff. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't cancel out all noise. But it muffles a lot of noise nicely. It's literally a case of 'see the exposed metal, stick some sound deadening on it!'. I used Dynamat Extreme in my last car, and this one.

Oh please update us after you swapped tires!
Front tyres fitted less noise there but rear still really bad.i had electric car before with low rolling tyres that was much better compare the leon.last max 10.000miles if drove hard.
However new ps4 feel like rubber on the wheels not stone hard mix.

Considering that its riding on elastic bands, loud exhaust with its pops, bangs, crackles, farts its pretty good i think but yes tyres fitted as standard are not my choice so looking forward to changing just before the end of the year for winter time :drive1:

Anyone can recommend good quality wheel spacer?
I bought sparco to the front but i want quickly for the rear something from uk.

On my Audi A7 I changed to Dunlop Sport Maxx rated at 68db. Enormous difference from my other tires. I probably will change to them on the Cupra when the time comes. 3db equals the double amount of noice. From 72 to 68 will be a massive difference.

Haha coming from a 2017 Passat Alltrack to a Cupra R ST with Cup2 tires is going to be "interesting"
