i am new to this sight so to start i would just like to say hello!!!
now can anybody help i have a 2004 leon cupra totaly standard engine serviced every 8000 mile but today i have jumped in it and it seems like its holding back very badly with no power and the managment light is flashing and there is a sort of burning smell from the exhaust but no smoke it ran absolutley fine yesterday any suggestions??? plugs or leads??? many thanks paul:confused:

coil pack i'd say. ~£25 from dealers or gsf; either trial and error to find out which is at fault or plug it into vagcom and it will tell you which cylinder is causing the problem. the coil packs sit ontop of the sparkplugs

how long can you go without replacing the coilpack?im visiting glenrothes and this happened on the way up...got a long trip back to glasgow next...
i hear a rattly crackle in my engine bay at idle, is that linked to this?

not usually a crackle/rattle, if a pack goes then its usually followed by a management light and a total misfire, judder.

easy job to do diy and 25 ish for the packs. dont get a garage to do, its a pull out push in job and theyll charge you a fortune for the privelidge
