As far as I can tell there is no power difference at all that means each mode would need its own map. Unlikely, definitely just changes the throttle response.

Bigger brakes and multilink suspension on the 184 :)

I'm new here and is looking at a 150 TDI ST FR 6Man.

How much fun am i loosing to the 184, without the bigger brakes and multilink suspension?

there is no option to get the 184 TDi ST FR in 6Man in my area.

I have just ordered a 1.4 ecotsi 150bhp Leon and I was wondering if anyone has one and if anyone has got experience in any mods?

Ive owned both the 150 and 184. I much prefer the 184 dsg even in the heavier sports tourer which I have. The 150 (manual) is still a very gutsy engine and gives you near enough the same economy. I never got either of mine over 55mpg....but that could be down to my heavy right foot. 184 always puts a smile on my face the torque and power is impressive!

Why not go for the 184 DSG? Its a brilliant gearbox and is really responsive. Ive got it in the Sports Tourer and I would never go back to a manual now.

When i had my golf with the same 1.4 tsi 150 engine i was always worried to try and get a remap on it as i was told by several owners on a golf forum that even tho the engine was capable of a lot more,it was the gearbox that was the problem.
I was told that the gearbox could only handle 250nm of torque which is what it was currently running so i was always a little hesitant to get a remap.my experience of the gearbox in my previous golf is that i thought gearchanges in the golf were very rough and not smooth one bit.i had a few other issues with it so it could have been i fell on a bad car as a whole.i think there a a couple of owners that have had theirs remaped which i found very interesting as golf owners on a previous forum it was definately a no go.when ordering my leon i kept away from the 1.4 engine just down to the problems i had with my golf and thst wasnt down to power because i thought the 1.4 was a cracker of an engine.decided to have the 184 tdi and never looked back.

The dealers ain't going for it for now due to some sales quality.
Not even willing to take an indent for it.

Ignore my username! No idea how to change

My Leon Fr184 is cracking, before I got mines mapped I was easily getting 55 mpg commuting 9 miles to work and back. I'm now running revo stage 1, dynoed at 238bhp and 397lbs... it's a totally different beast, lovely and quick, the in gear acceleration is unreal. Plus it's still getting around 48mpg on a commute or well over 50 on motorway (when you don't use the new power )

So in summary... buy a 184... map it... fall in love

My mapped 184 was only .2 behind a stock 280 cupra manual at the 1/4 mile

I have a 150 tdi and its by no means slow, definetly plan on a remap but i do with all my cars. I believe there quite a bit lighter than the mk2 leon too so that must help.

184 all the way. Let me know if you're looking for a second hand one, as my Cupra 300 comes in a couple of weeks so will be selling mine...

My old 184 (in black)with DSG, winter and convenience packs is currently for sale over at Crewe SEAT. Give us a shout as I've still got the DTUK CRDT+ tuning box and pipercross panel filter which gave the car a much needed boost and unleashed the beast Roughly 235/240 BHP and 500nm torque

Hi guys. Is there any visable difference between the 184 and 150?

I'm looking to buy a 184 but I wouldn't know the difference or how you could tell.

The 184 has different suspension.

If the rear brakes are in line with the front ones then there’s multilink suspension and that’s the 184

If they're above that’s the 150 with the beam axle

Just checked a photo and although the rears are smaller (naturally) they're in line. Whereas another photo of one on Autotrader which is meant to be a 150 is in a almost North East position on the disc/hub.

Cheers
