The DSG is here on the petrol only at the moment

Hmmmm nice one....
i am surprised they havent put it on the diesel...my brother in law has a golf GT TDI (only 140) but has the dsg with retro fitted paddle shift......Seat are missing out on a real market for diesel DSG!!! i believe it is marketed as Road Slicer! no kidding!!!!

cheers:)

The same thing for VW then - available on the 140 TDI, but not the 170 - I'd imagine it's to do with the increased torque of the 170 engine - I've heard that remapping the 140 can be difficult on DSG because the clutches struggle

Am I right in thinking that the DSG is pre set to change gear at the most optimum revs for performance, econemy depending on what setting you have it on.. ie, in sport mode it will change gear at a preset rev range for most performance? If i were to get a 140pd dsg remapped, surely the power band would be different to what it was as standard, therefore, would the dsg still know when to change gear for optimum performance? or does this need to be altered also?
