Leon FR power increase

Hello All,

The girlfriend went out and did the unthinkable - spoilt my Corvette fun factor by getting a Leon FR!

What a seriously fun car! While I enjoy the 'vettes raw power factor, the Leon is just plain fun - the DSG gearbox is a dream, wot with being able to 'tip-tronic' it or 'paddle' it or just drop it in 'sport' mode - what a joy!

Anyway - the reason for the thread!

We live in Dubai and the dealer here has said he can increase the power by another 60hp with factory approval. I was wondering if anyones knows if that is possible as it seems a big increase! If it is possible what would that do for the bottom and top end performance figures? Faster acceleration? Increased torque? Higher top speed?

I am off to check out the Cupra, he says he can tweak that another 25hp, so again, anyone know what results to perfomance that would give?

Lots of people do that here.

The cupra can be hiked by 70 bhp to 310bhp. We don't have factory approval though!!

So can my stealer mod the ECU!?, or they Approve the modification by someone else!?

In our case it's the stealer, they do it in-house.

Anyone got any figures after the mod? Was thinking that I like the power of the Cupra, but I want the DSG box - which is not available on the Cupra - so methinks next best thing is to go for FR with extra 60hp but I have no idea what extra performance it is likey to give!

be careful with increasing, especially with torque, because there would be a problem - transmit power/torque by DSG. But I dont know, hom much KW/Nm would by dengerous for DSG. You should ask anybody else.

Does the stealer charge you for this?

Also, is there a list for factory approved aftermarket parts?

I'v use Upsolute in the past - believe there is a agent out that way. Check out audi/vw web sites for remap /DSG problems - very simlar engine/trans configuration to Seat.
