That a interesting comment 3.5k power drop off -mine is around 4k who's map have you got?? [ it pulls like a train to 5k]The power does drop off around 3500 even in a remaped car, but the power loss is not as significant as it is withought the map. There is a post of a dyno run on the forum for a bluefin remap if you find this you will see what i mean, enjoy the car as it is alot better mapped than standard.
The problem with the little VXR is it's not very good at putting it's power on the road. Handling wise a modded TDi FR could beat a Corsa VXR or maybe even a modded VXR. Straight line there's not much competition the Corsa would be quicker, but it wouldn't be as clear cut as some of you think.
I only recently changed my Corsa VXR to the Leon FR 170. Having driven both cars, I can tell you that the FR is one quick car and is up there with the rest of the hot hatches in my opinion. Economy spot on as well
Just to add my 2 cents. I have taken a corsa VXR no problem. Dont get me wrong off the lights it kills you in 1st gear as the FR has such a short first. But by the time you get 2nd and drop 3rd, my car was 1 maybe 1 1/2 car lengths in front. Im running 235bhp 368lbs. Grin factor ....... ALWAYS
ps.....if its wet, both cars have major issues putting the power down through the front wheels. Spinning in 3rd is never good for the tyres.
How did you manage that? I have stage 1 and have 221bhp and 340lbs torque
i have never had the opportunity to find out but from what i have heard about those wee Corsa's... it would be no contest. Power to weight alone would see the Corsa off into the distance. I struggled to stick with a 106 gti...![]()
Full DPF off and a good tuner lol.
Your car is gonna need a new clutch dude
