Leon FR+ TDI Trade in

Comments please.
Went to my Seat Dealer (Rutherfords of Earlston) about trading in my Jan 06 55 plate Leon fr+ tdi (Black Magic ) 18k miles and was offered 12k against a new fr tdi in Candy White with 18" wheels & bluetooth. So far so good however price he quoted was £18,200 which after reading posts on here seems steep. I refuse to go to Arnold Clark but can anyone recommend a dealer who will give me a better price on a new car? Or is this price ok?

Where are you and will you travel for the the right car? There's a few dealers on here, so it might be worth asking some of them?

I'm in edinburgh. yes that's the problem a lot of the dealers are down south. worth considering though..

not got a parkers guide? Ring around a few other garages, ask for the price, then ask for a trade in price, and compare them all. If its a brand new car you could purchase over the phone and ask them to deliver the car- they could pick up the trade in when they deliver the new car.
