Oh come-on, it's getting a bit much.

ukcarnews was/is bad enough, but now worldcarfans

Stuff to do with the marque and the VAG family, even other exotic marques fair enough.

But a page full of "news" about all the stuff that I could read direct from the external sites if I was bothered is too much

Cadilac STS, Land Cruiser, MG7, in fact, the entire contents of that site FFS

What's going off?

Just an idea I thought to try out. I can limit it to only post certain posts from the news feeds (pick out words like audi, vw etc)

looking for feedback really, and you've given me some

the 'page' was as a result of me forgetting to limit the number of feeds to process at one time, so it just did the lot

I'm with Phil on this.

Way too much stuff. I do look at about 50% of the UKcarnews stuff but I think that and the Worldcarfans stuff would be too much.

Sniff's good though. Can't have too much sniffpetrol:D

Oh yeah, leave sniff :D

Especially in it's new format, the less-newlettery-more-snippety format works brilliantly for t'internet.

I'll have a look at it later on - you do know it's an automated process? not just me posting?

its not just me then. id vote for just keeping sniff and the other ones removed. If i wanted other car news i would go to the car websites and look at their news section. Im on SCN as i want to read about SEATs.

Just bulks out my new posts search.

Can't have your cake and eat it too...it would appear.

It would probably be better if we coded in the main website template to accept RSS feeds maybe on a side bar or something. Personally if something doesn't interest me I just don't click it and read it. That goes with some of the posts on the forum too.

Some of the articles i do find interesting and useful, those i click and read, those i don't i ignore them and move onto the next item in the list. I search by New Posts too, i don't find them distracting really.

But the World Car Fans feed does seem to have a mind of its own, repeating items. UK Car News doesn't appear to do that?

the reason we can't run RSS feeds from our main site is down to the server side OS :(

WCF seems to get picked up over & over, so i'll tweak that some more I think... it'll be when they update articles UKCN obviously don't :D

Out of interest, how do you get the server to pick up RSS feeds? My lot have been asked to do something at work...
