Mate, I have a shed load of fuses I picked up from Maplins. £5 for 100 assorted blade fuses in a deal some time ago for when I had the punto. If you are really realy stuck, give me a bell and come out to my way and I will do what I can to help.

Good luck.

good luck with the fuse.. would be great if that was the fault remedy!

I wouldnt put all those faliures down to a re-map.. i didnt even realise the map would touch most of these issues that have been found. Hoping its just a co-incidence.

Sounds like a sensor fault as it would be that which puts the car into limp mode.

A guided fault find by the dealership should assist. Means checking each sensor individually as well as the whole circuit loom... dealers hate doing it as it takes a while if vag com dosent give the correct answers first time, or gives conflicting results.

Any updates on this yet?

The more thought about it seems like the dealer just wanted to fob you off. Especially when they said the list of faults was changing every time. Sounds like wiring or even a sensor going to -/+.

I could be tempted to blame the map IF the faults cleared and only came back while driving but i'm 100% sure it's hardware. Let us know

Paul

im going to get up to you hopefully sat if thats still cool.

i havnt changes the fuse 21 yet , but will try soon.

cheers

If it were me mate, i'd time my journey up to Leeds when a local dealer will be open/fit you in?

I'm not sure if saturdays are good on that score! just a thought, book in to a Leeds dealer now?

As above i'd do your best to get into a dealer while you are up here and prepare for an overnight too maybe. It will be interesting to see what vag-com says to compare to the dealers story but i dont think it will be a quick fix as dealers usually get lost when there is no sign saying "here change this"

spoke to them, they said even a misfire can cause the epc light to come on, and the first fault my dealer found was the coilpack/misfire problem, so it could just be that ...

anyway, the seat in leeds are booked today and sat, so there suggestion was to call aa and see if there vag com style gadget can clear it...

i still havn't tried this fuse 21 yet, am planning to call the AA out and see if there machine can detect anything different.

what a daft thing to do........

historically AA diag's suck... and don't talk to the car (especially VW group ones)

So all they'll do is tow you to the dealer.

If you know it's fuse 21 - just look & see if it's blown. 30 second job & well worth doing to save the grief of being dumped with no car

i had a problem very similar to this a while ago turned out to be the main harness connector in the engine bay was full of water

Wayne/Paul,

I would not book into either the leeds/bradford dealerships!!
Best two about are Ted Johnsons @ Barnsley and Richard Alexander at Huddersfield.

If me and james can be of any help on the saturday let us know, im sure we can come over to lend a few brains to it

You not changed that fuse yet?! I will drive down and do it for you!

from reading the whole thread it does not origonally have a fuse in F21, but i agree

try the fuse
try the fuse
try the fuse
try the fuse
try the fuse
try the fuse

So what do we all think then?

I'm sure someone mentioned a fuse or something :D
