Looks like SEAT UK have changed the CO2 figures for new cars

Obviously the actual co2 figures are relative to the fuel consumption.

My car (1.4act) in real life does a few more mpg than the cupra claims on paper (45 for mine against 43.5 claimed for the cupra) so it stands to reason that it'll be producinga similar abeit marginly less real life co2 figures.
As the 5dr cupra produces 154 co2 for 43.5 mpg then I'd imagine mine produces about 145 co2 for 45mpg. A big rise from the claimed 109 co2

Hope that makes sense

It always is, nobody is expected to believe the "official" figures. All the adverts for all cars now include a disclaimer that the figures do not necessarily relate to normal driving conditions.

Honest John has a good site at http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/ which shows individual results and the average result is that the figures are wrong by 85% and in many cases worse than that.

No cheat software on those engines....apparently

Who knows what the true C02 figures will be in the end though.

My 63 plate manual 184 with 18" wheels from the factory still shows on my log book with C02 of 109 with tax at £20.

I own my car and paid in full on day one and I intend to carry on enjoying the car for a long time and not worry about a few numbers unless my tax goes up to £300 or something

I went for the DSG on mine and the V5C shows 119g C02 and have the 18" Performance alloys as well. Guess I got lucky?
