did it overheat at all cos my water pump propeller (plastic) decided to snap into a million pieces a few months ago and i lost the turbo (safety measure) as the temp crept up. But when ur only driving around the streets in town and not going over 40ish temp was fine, but once over 40 and over a mile or so the temp would start to creep and turbo would shut down. Doesnt sound the same but worth checking. If ur gonna replace get a Audi TT one. They have a metal blade. Fair bit of work to change the pump though (cheers dad :))
Also worth sticking it on VAG.com see if any errors come up i suppose

This happenz some times, when the temp gets hotter, the car will feel slugish, but feels faster once cooled or driving at night time. Check you intake temp, if so get a fmic to help.

Lost turbo :D

Simple answer, you hit limp mode!

Next time it happens, switch off ignition and then straight back on and you'll have your turbo back :D

Probably down to a dodgy batch of fuel, but there are lots of reasons as to why your car will go into limp. It is not a fault, just a safety feature.

Nothing to do with waterpump. Water pump failure and your gauge will read above 90.

Mine's being doing it for over a year. The Seat garage is clueless. Changed the MAF (£150) and stripped down and cleaned the turbo and manifold (£400). Still does it. Always when the revs hit 2.5k - 3k and especially on a hill. Turning the engine off resets it. Trying to find a date when I can leave it at the garage yet again for a couple of days.

£150 for an MAF? Where from? I-saw-you-comming.com?? :)

My LCR does this. Pain in the ass. It also does this when ur drive with MPG in mind. Goes in to Slow Mode. Hate it on the motorway when you wana overtake. Foot Down = Nothing!!! Annoying

OK. got my boost gauge now. Normally i hit 11 -12 psi boost. After driving for 30 mins at a steady pace i put my foot down and only get 4-5.

This must be a ecu thing for when ur driving a long way and need Mpg.
