Loud banging from rear

hi guys, when i am driving along and go over a bump there is a loud bang from the drivers side rear.

it feels the same as if i have gone up a cerb with a flat tyer, it is loud and you can feel it quite a bit.

any ideas

knackered spring or damper is a possible.Could be a number of things.Have you had a look underneath?

i had a push on the suspenion and it seemded to come up fine but i habnt had a good look yet.

My Mk4 golf had the same problem, it was the rear axle bushes!

are the bushes rubber or are they metal mounts and also can they be changed (DIY) or is it a garage job

They are rubber ones i think. The garage did them i didn't fancy attempting it on my own. Can be a pain to remove the old ones. Cost 160 in total.
