to start with i HAVE searched the forums so no snidey comments :p

Ibiza TDI 02 mk4
1.9 TDI PD130

as you may well guess by the title the little red light in the temp gauge bit, has started flashing, its usually when it gets up to 90C but the temp doesnt go over that it just sits there as per normal, ive checked the levels of course and water is flowing through the header tank

i have read people saying about its a common fault and its a case of cleaning the prongs in the header tank but mine doesnt have these, the one thing i have found is that on the rear of the heater tank is a recess for a connector and nothing is plugged in and i cant remeber ever seeing some thing in there, as well as there is no loose plugs hanging around. just looked at some engine bays and cant see any one else having a plug in there

so if some one could shed light on this, i have vag com and if any one knows where in vag com the fault may appear i would be very greatful as its really really fking me off now :)

cheers in advance

Lee

Got the same problem mate as you on my 52 plate, have replaced temp sender and fuel temp sender and checked wireing all to no avail:(

Have had it pluged in when the light is flashing on our 5051 no faults stored and all MVB's ok.

There is no plug for the coolant bottle too mate.

I can only think it is a dash pod problem(loads of money!)

If you can sove this one mate will give you a big wet kiss!!!:D

I think that the increase in "speed" is actually an increase in noise due to all other vent flaps being closed to allow the demister to work better - also I seem to remember that the system gets switched from ECON (if it is in that mode) to compressor enabled so that the air gets dried out a bit.

tried it - don't bother - makes no difference.
had vagcom on and no faults are apparent.

TBH, I've given up and i'm going to sell

Got the same problem, just changed a coolant temp.sensor and it did not help
whatsoever. VAG-COM not detecting any error codes as well!!

This is proper weird and annoying!!

Anyone has dealt successfully with that problem?? Please help!
