the burbs...
Hi,

My low fuel beep and warning light does not seem to be working, although the gauge works fine. I drove the tank seriously empty, gauge resting on zero (estimated range left 10 miles) to make sure and not a beep or a flash, previously it would beep when it was much further up the gauge. Anyone got any suggestions to find the fault.

I briefly mentioned this on another thread but didn't get a response... my TDI doesn't appear to have a low fuel warning light, but it does have a beep - is this normal? I've owned the car almost two years and there has never been a light, but I haven't established if this is normal? It does seem strange that I'd have a beep but no light...

The light is within the gauge, just below the 0 on the gauge. My light & beep came on just below the quarter mark. Usually with +- 5 liters in the tank. It would beep and the light would come on everytime you started the car until you put more fuel in.

Hmm - well that happens with the beep, certainly - but there's no obvious sign of a light on the gauge (although I know these things are sometimes hard to spot if they're not illuminated!). There are several different instrument panel configurations, although I'd have thought an SE would have had a light?

Bah now I feel like I'm missing out :)
