Hello,

Just wondering if people get special socket sets to get the correct nm on tightening screws etc or if they just do it by guess work?

Just got a copy of Elsawin and it shows all the nm torque settings, never really thought about it before.

thanks

Just buy yourself a half decent torque wrench for peace of mind.

One of these:

It's 3/8", so you'll need an adapter if you want to use 1/2" sockets, but I use it all the time, and it covers the whole range from tightening the wheel bolts to the oil filter cover.

Tight is fine, but I don't know what 25nm feels like, or 60nm, or the difference between 80nm and 110nm. It's not a lot of money for peace of mind.
