Hi all

I’m running a couple of fault codes on my LCR and the first port of call is a clean/replace of the MAP sensor.

I’ve checked out a TT and a golf how to but I’m still struggling. Can I have a definitive description of exactly where it is, a decent picture would be useful maybe even a Cupra r video.

As an aside the TT guide said I’ve got to get the front bumper off, is that right?

rgds

ps it’s NOT the MAF I’m looking at!!

Isn’t it on a pipe leading to one of the side mount coolers ? Mines an LC so will be slightly different but I could see it by simply standing over my engine bay and looking straight down, mounted on the pipe to my side cooler, so can’t imagine it will be much harder on the LCR.

Should give you some idea, i guess itll be under the battery, either bumper off or if you're lucky through the wheel arch by removing the trim

good luck

Ah nice one glad you found it . I couldn’t find any pics of where it’s actually located so diagram is next best thing Lol

Yeah ive the bumper off a couple of times, not a fun job by yourself. Definitely need spare hands on it.

No need to remove the bumper to access the MAP sensor on a LCR.
Remove the battery and housing along with the 2 slam panel trims above the nearside headlight and you should have enough room.
Be aware that the 2 x torx screws holding it into the boost pipe are regularly corroded so may cause you some headaches if they round off.

well the good news is that the MAP is out. Bad news is that both screws actually sheared off, which meant the pipe had to come out, couldn't get to the jubilee clips to that got cut off. And the plastic connector broke as well!!

Off to SEAT tomorrow with a shopping list, lets hope it actually fixes the problem.

Omg do you know how much a new pipe is? Jesus! ( other religious icons are available).

currently trying to either get the bolts out or a second hand eBay job.

New pipe is £200 from SEAT.

my first tip to anyone showing a MAP fault is to remove the pipe and clean the sensor without removing from the pipe, they almost always go apparently.

I’ve had a garage try to fix it, fingers crossed.
